Thermal Diffusion and Diffusion-Thermo Effects on Ohmic Heating with Mhd Free Convective Flow Past a Vertical Porous Plate in the Presence of Viscous Dissipation

Abstract

The MHD laminar boundary layer ow with heat and mass transfer of an electrically conducting viscous uid in a porous medium with ohmic heating and viscous dissipation e ects is studied numerically. The governing systems of nonlinear partial di erential equations of the ow, heat and mass transfer processes are solved using implicit nite di erence scheme of Crank-Nicolson type. The numerical solutions are used to carry out parametric studies. The e ects of the governing parameters on dimensionless quantities namely velocity, temperature, concentration, skin friction, local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are explored. It is found that the dimensionless velocity and temperature increases with increase in the heating term and the concentration increases with suction and viscous dissipation.
