Review of a Study of Soft Fields

I. A. Onyeozili*

Molodtsov in 1999 introduced the concept of soft set theory as a general mathematical tool for dealing with uncertainty about vague concept. In this paper, we present the definition of soft field and soft subfield with illustrative examples. Some properties of soft fields and soft subfields are investigated.

Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM) Solution of Boundary Layer Flow Past a Stretching Plate with Heat Transfer, Viscous Dissipations, and Grashof Number

Yusuf A*, Jiya M, Tsadu S

The research work focuses on the solution of Magnetohydrody namics (MHD) boundary layer flow past a stretching plate with heat transfer and viscous dissipation. The non-linear of momen tum and energy equation are transformed into ordinary differential equation using similarity transformation, the resulting equations were solved using Adomian decomposition method (ADM). An attempt has been made to ...

MHD Mixed Convective Flow of a Second Grade Fluid in the Presence of Nonlinearized Thermal Radiation, Thermal diffusion and Diffusion thermo Effects

I. G. Baoku*, K. I. Falade

The implicit finite difference method of Crank-Nicolson type is employed to examine heat and mass transfer in a transient magnetohydrodynamic mixed convective flow of a viscoelastic second grade fluid past a vertical porous plate in the presence of nonlinearized thermal radiation, thermal diffusion and diffusion thermo effects. The governing coupled nonlinear time-based partial differential equati...

Functions Defined by Product of Geometric Expressions

F. M. JIMOH*, K. O. Babalola

We introduce a new class, Jα n(β), of analytic and univa lent functions defined by product of geometric expres sions. The univalence of functions in the new class as well as sufficient inclusion condition is established. The radius of convexity for the class J1 0(β) is also obtained.

On the Stability Analysis and Homotopy-Based Solution of three species Lotka-Volterra Model

E. A. Bakare*, S. Chakraverty

The Lotka-Volterra model is a description of the dynamic behaviour of a multispecies number of competitors and/or predator-prey interactions which have found usefulness in non-linear control and simultaneous chemical engineering and other engineering fields. In this paper, we present the stability analysis and homotopy based solution of three species Lotka-Volterramodel. The three species Lotka-Vo...

On the use of Statistical Power in Examining Changes in Rainfall

Obisesan K. O*

The main objective of statistical analysis is to make inference. One way of doing this is through Hypothesis Testing and Post-hoc power analysis which can be applied to environmental phenomena such as rainfall. Rainfall is an important element in understanding the climatic condition of any environment. In this work, tests of hypothesis and post-hoc power analysis are carried out using monthly rain...

MODELLING AND EVALUATION PERFORMANCES WITH NEURAL NETWORK USING CLIMATIC TIME SERIES DATA

T. O. Olatayo*, A. I. Taiwo

Neural network model is an alternative powerful data modeling tool capable of capturing and representing non-linear relationships between variables. The methodology used in this research article were Artificial Neural network (ANN), Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) and Fuzzy Time Series (FTS) models. The study revealed that, since ANN forecast performance evaluation has the lowest ...

A Modified Interior Penalty Function Method for Constrained Optimization Problems

Catherine N. Ejieji*, J. Yohanna

Amodified Interior penalty function method algorithm for solving non-linear constrained optimization problems is presented in this work. The modified scheme was achieved by introducing a new function to the existing method and the proof of convergence for the new function is established. The modified algorithm is used to solve numerical examples and the results obtained show that the proposed inte...
